My career at Oliver WymanHi! I’m Moritz Küntzler, an Associate in Oliver Wyman’s Berlin Office. I am aligned with the Retail & Consumer Goods and the Corporate Finance & Advisory Practices, with a specialization in data-driven performance improvements and restructuring turnarounds.
I joined Oliver Wyman about two years ago, and started in the Munich office. Since I wanted to move in with my fiancée who works in Berlin, I requested a transfer after a few months – and it went through with absolutely zero problems.
My background, motivation and life outside work I graduated with a Diploma in Physics from Heidelberg University, and thereafter completed a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics at King’s College London. It turns out that many theoretical physicists end up in consulting – the structured way of thinking and problem solving applies well across the two. The driver for my decision for going into consulting ultimately was (and is!) the ability to work on projects with immediate and clear impact!
The open and respectful culture between consultants, partners, and support staffs distinguishes Oliver Wyman as a consultancy, and were the deciding factor for me to join. Here, I felt appreciated and included in the firm from day 1!
On weekends, I can usually be found either outdoors – sailing and mountain biking in summer, skiing in winter, running year-round – or with some or other book on the couch in our flat.
