HOW SAVE THE CHILDREN IS CREATING REAL CHANGE ACROSS ASIA

Explore how we worked with Save the Children to inform stronger regional programs that improve safety, education, and climate‑resilient health across Asia.

More than 520 million children in the world today are living in conflict situations. More than 200 million need humanitarian help, with another 250 million out of school. And almost 5 million children under five die every year from preventable diseases. The numbers are staggering, and it’s easy to lose hope or feel helpless when faced with such dire need. But there are people helping — and we are helping them.

Save the Children tackles the urgent challenges that affect children’s safety, health, education, resilience, and overall wellbeing. It was founded a century ago and partners with children, communities, and governments to ensure children are protected and provided for. The organization focuses on giving communities the tools and opportunities to thrive, through programs that address digital safety, youth skills development, and climate resilience among other things. Our team, spread across Hong Kong, Australia, Mainland China, Japan, Thailand, and Singapore, helped shape and prioritize the regional programs most likely to make a real difference at scale.

The engagement with Oliver Wyman was instrumental in sharpening our regional strategic direction, bringing structure, external perspective, and real momentum to our multi-country programming agenda
Adnan Laeeq, Head of Program Funding, Asia

Over seven weeks, our team helped build a set of strategic initiatives for the Asia region. We started by talking to country teams, donors, and peer organizations to get a clear understanding of the current landscape and challenges. From there, we identified key program concepts that could be realistically adapted and implemented across multiple countries. Throughout, we focused on listening to those on the ground and blending their experiences with broader market trends to create practical, effective strategies.

The project helped advance Save the Children’s mission by enabling a strategic, region-wide approach to fundraising and program development across Asia. By identifying initiatives that could work across borders, it helped fill critical gaps in regional program planning and deliver at scale. This strategic clarity puts Save the Children in a stronger position to respond to what donors and communities actually need right now, particularly in areas like child online safety, youth skills development, and climate-resilient health systems. Behind every strategy is a child who deserves better, and we’re proud to play in part in this important work.

We are honored to support Save The Children. Our focus is on solving complex strategic questions and helping our partners build lasting, critical capabilities. This project exemplifies our commitment to that mission and showcases the meaningful impact we can achieve together
